I am an avid fan of practical knowledge and the psychology of influence/persuasion is definitely among the top of my list. Influence teaches you six universal principles of influence backed by numerous scientific studies: reciprocation, consistency, social proof, liking, authority and scarcity, and how from these principles, wield various weapons of influence. This is especially helpful for your social life and career, whether it be making allies, negotiating contracts, managing group projects, or making your boss like you. What I especially liked was how the author went undercover in different professions to conduct authentic research. It is no wonder then, that I have found his techniques effective.
